Clean and Simple Card 1

I wanted to try the depth of a forest.  I used 2 colors and stamped off with one of them and then used it again full strength for the front trees.  When I added the snow, I had taken off the tape and got carried away.  I forgot to leave the white border around the top of the card.  I'd try this one again.  I like the look of the forest.

Background Check Day 6 Cards3 and 4

This is how I finished off my "two for" cards.  The one on the left I die cut a greeting and added over the flat card at an angle.  The one on the right I die cut the letters and did an inlay to bring out the greeting.  I'm thinking I don't like the look of the white centers in the letters.

Background Check Day 6 Card 2

This card uses the bkgd where I used a die as an embossing folder.  I cut it down some and added a bright yellow mat.  I added punched out flowers and leaves and a banner.

Background Check Day 6 Card 1

I used the bkgd piece I already did for this class, cut it down to 5 14" X 4" and mounted it onto a base card with 3D tape.  I then die cut the greeting 3 times and layered them.  Lastly I attached the greeting to the card front with a glue pen.

Background Day 5 Card 3

I ran this through the Big Shot using a diagonal pattern twice (in opposite directions) to make the plaid pattern.  Then I used Distress Inks to add color.

Background Check Day 5 Card 2

I used a butterfly embossing folder then colored in with finger daubers and Distress Inks.

Background Check Day 5 Card 1

I used a die as an embossing folder.  Hadn't tried this before and it works really well.  Tomorrow I'll turn this into a finished card.

Background Check Day 4 Card 1

Sorry, I really need to learn how to fix this problem!

I did this one because I liked the "two for".  I die cut the a "happy birthday" over and over and then, after temporarily attaching it to another card, used my Distress Inks and used it like a stencil.  This gave me two for the effort and time of time.  I like that idea.

Background Check Day 3 Card 1

I did an inked pkgd and then put Versa Mark on a bkgd stamp and stamped this.
Then I cut strips, put the pieces onto a white base card and added die cut black sentiment.

Background Check Day 2 Card 1

Day 2 Card 1
I used small stamps from sets to make the bkgd.  I didn't overlap the colored flowers, but I did overlap with some of the white pigment flowers I added.  You can't see them here, but it looks good in person.

Background Check Day 1 Card 2

I have some practicing to do, but this was a fun card to try.   I messed up at the last of it when adding the foreground.  I will try this one again.

Background Check Day 1 Card 1

Background Class Day 1 Card 1

I did direct ink to paper using Broken China Distress Ink.  I then misted the floral bkgd stamp with Perfect Pearls and laid my card front on top of that....then dried with the heat tool.  Love the soft look of this.
Then I used Tumbled Glass and Broken China to double stamp the flower and 3D it only my card.
(Sorry the second picture is on it's side.)

The Rule of Thirds

This I made for "The Rule of Thirds" class.  I had this bkgd stamp and wasn't sure what to do with it because it seemed so bold.  I stamped off once before stamping it on my card and that made all the difference.  I made an acetate guide like we were shown and will use that a lot to help me plan out my card fronts.
